GIFCLP11.EXE is a 2nd attempt to convert GIFs to CONDOR.
It produces clips from 320x200 GIFs only, but the resulting
file can be very large. CONDOR files are usually very small
but the GIF-CLIPPER just uses PLOTs and DRAWTOs to recreate
the GIF. It's pretty tough to write RASTER to VECTOR converter
and they cost several hundred dollars, so for what this ones
cost you can't complain much. This newer version will let
you CLIP and then move the clip to where you want it before the
scan. You will also see the scan in progress, the GIF will slowly
disappear. If you know the GIF only has a few colors but it
thinks it has 256 you can press and hold the right mouse
button to exit the scan early, it will save the file.
Also most of the time clipper will not lock up on GIFs that are
not the right resolution, it checks first. I would only use this
for like scanner stuff...finger prints, maybe a mugshot but a
small one for up in the corner of the screen somewhere.
If someone really finds a good use for clipper I'd like to know.
It would help me to BE HAPPY, :) and maybe improve on it.
Since CONDOR doesn't have SVGA modes right now I just went with the
256 color VGA mode. I could probably add 640x480x16 support pretty
easy but most at that res are 256 SVGA. CONDOR may support more
resolutions later on if people use it.
